Robert B. Peyton, M.D.

 

Dr. PeytonDr. Robert B. Peyton earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University and his medical degree at New York University Medical Center. He completed his surgical residency at Duke University Medical Center. While at Duke, Dr. Peyton was named Chief resident.

Dr. Peyton has been the recipient of the Southern Medical Association Research Award and the National Institutes of Health Research Fellowship. He served as an assistant professor of surgery for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Cornell University Medical Center and is chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Rex Hospital.

Dr. Peyton is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is a member of the New York Society for Thoracic Surgery, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association and the American Medical Society. He is also Fellow in the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Peyton specializes in adult cardiac surgery including lead extractions to remove fracture or infected pacemaker or defibrillator wires, off-pump and traditional CABG and heart valve repair and replacement.
